Fulton is one building at the edge of Golden Gate Park, split into two units on different floors and joined by a shared backyard. Unit 2332 has a shared area with standing desks and a big table, and a kitchen with free laundry. Unit 2336, the bigger of the two, has its own kitchen and a shared working area with standing desks in the bay window; from those desks you can see the Golden Gate Bridge. The backyard between the units is where the whole house meets: dinners at the long table, and coffee in the sun. The park is a five-minute walk, which is the easiest way to get an hour outside without planning one. Every room has a full-size bed and a standing desk. Fast Wi-Fi, laundry and all utilities are included. You live among other founders and engineers: weekly dinners, a bi-weekly mastermind, investor dinners and a quarterly Demo Day run across all the houses.

Who Fulton is best for

Fulton suits founders who are either (a) deep in build mode and protective of their focus time, (b) at the stage where running through Golden Gate Park 5 days a week is the right kind of routine to keep them healthy under stress, or (c) coming from a research/academic background where being adjacent to USF feels familiar. It's less of a nightlife house than Guerrero or Shotwell, and that's deliberate. Pick this one if your default evening is a 9pm walk through the park, not a 9pm bar meet.

Fulton is a quiet residential block on the boundary of four very different neighborhoods. Lone Mountain is the USF campus zone: academic, calm, walkable. NoPa (North of Panhandle) is a 5-minute walk south with one of SF's best cafe + brunch scenes: Mojo, The Mill, Souvla, Nopalito, Bi-Rite. Inner Richmond is a 10-minute walk west: affordable, multicultural, dense with great Asian food and quirky bookstores. Haight-Ashbury is a 10-minute walk south for record stores, vintage, and Amoeba Music. Golden Gate Park itself is across the street.

How to get downtown

Fulton sits a few blocks from the 5 Fulton and 31 Balboa bus lines, both of which run frequently into downtown SF (Civic Center, Market Street, Financial District). Travel time is 25-35 minutes by bus depending on traffic, or ~15-20 minutes by Uber/Lyft off-peak. The closest Muni Metro station (Civic Center) is a 15-minute bus ride away. BART access is via Civic Center; SFO is ~40 minutes door-to-door by Uber.
