What's included in the cost of living at Foundry?

Every Foundry room includes utilities, water, high-speed Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning of common areas, a fully furnished private bedroom (bedding, towels, kitchenware), access to shared kitchen and living spaces, weekly Saturday dinners, a 4-hour Saturday mastermind session, social events, and one ticket to a Foundry Demo Day per quarter.

How much does Foundry cost?

Small rooms start at $1,890/month and large rooms start at $2,090/month. Stays of 6+ months get a discount; short stays under a month run slightly higher. Pricing is the same across all four houses.

What is the minimum stay?

One month is the default minimum. Shorter stays are possible by request at a slightly higher rate. Long-term residents (6+ months) get a discount.

How does the application process work?

Book an online or in-person tour at foundry.today/schedule-tour, fill out a short application, and we'll get back to you within a few business days. Most accepted residents move in within 1–2 weeks of applying.

Where are the houses located?

Foundry operates four houses in San Francisco: 2332 Fulton St (Lone Mountain, near Golden Gate Park and USF), 1620 McAlister (Western Addition), 550 Guerrero St (Mission District, near Dolores Park), and 106–108 Shotwell St (Mission District, near 16th St BART).

Can I move in with a partner?

Yes — submit a request and we'll discuss the details. The room rate increases slightly to cover additional utilities.

Are pets allowed?

Foundry houses are generally not pet-friendly due to shared common spaces and resident allergies. Service animals are welcome; reach out for any specific situation.

Is parking available?

Most Foundry houses do not include dedicated parking, though some have garage availability for an additional fee. Street parking is available in all neighborhoods. We recommend confirming with the specific house during your tour.

What's the internet speed?

All houses run high-speed business-grade fiber (typically 500 Mbps+) with mesh Wi-Fi covering every room and common space.

Are the rooms furnished?

Yes — every room comes fully furnished with a bed, mattress, bedding, desk, chair, and storage. Kitchenware and household essentials are included in the shared spaces.

Can I work from home / take video calls?

Yes — every room has a desk and chair, business-grade Wi-Fi, and most houses have additional quiet work zones and call booths in common areas.

Are discounts available?

Yes. Residents who stay 6 months or more get a long-term discount. Residents who assist with house management or cleaning duties can also earn a discount — ask during your tour.

Do I need to be a startup founder to live here?

Foundry's community is built around early-stage founders, but residents include solo founders, co-founders, technical builders, designers, and operators at startup-stage companies. The common thread is ambition and active building, not a specific title.

What kind of events happen at Foundry?

Weekly Saturday community dinners, a 4-hour Saturday mastermind session (peer accountability and goal-setting), weekend hikes around the Bay Area, monthly demo days where residents present their startups, plus ad hoc fireside chats with investors and operators.

Can I host my own meetups or events at the house?

Yes — residents regularly host small dinners, demo nights, and co-working sessions for their networks. Larger events get coordinated with house management to keep shared spaces functional for other residents.

Is Foundry visa-friendly?

Foundry is a rental residency, not a visa sponsor. We don't issue invitation letters for visas but can provide standard rental documentation (lease, proof of residence) once you've moved in.

What's the deposit and cancellation policy?

A security deposit equal to one month's rent is required at move-in, refundable at move-out minus any damages. Cancellation policy depends on stay length — discussed during your application call.

How is Foundry different from a typical hacker house or coliving brand?

Foundry is focused specifically on early-stage startup founders in San Francisco — not digital nomads or remote workers generically. The Saturday mastermind, demo days, and resident community are designed around the rhythm of building a company, not just sharing a roof.
