I had an amazing time at the Foundry house. I was there for ~3 months in H1 2025 and would highly recommend this space to anyone. The rooms were exactly what I needed - comfy double bed, desk, and a lot of wardrobe space. The residents were all cracked and at various different stages in their startup careers. I can honestly say I made friends for life in this house and the atmosphere is very social. The location of the property is incredible. 1min away from Trader Joe's supermarket, 10 min walk to Aquatic Cove to swim, a gym 3 mins away, and easy transport via the Lyft bike station right outside for any/all meetings.

If you are a startup founder in SF... THIS is the place to be. I made best friends within the first few days who motivate each other to stay consistent with their goals and have fun along the way. This house is not just for tech startups, it's VERY diverse. Even if you are not working on a startup, it is great energy to be around to pursue personal projects. The rooms are spacious and come fully furnished. The kitchen has all the utensils you need. Laundry in-unit. Prime location in Mission District, close to all bars/grocery stores/restaurants. Movie nights, co-working sessions, eating/cooking together, going to networking events/hackathons together, getting groceries together, going on hikes... all of it. Lots of short term rentals, so there is always someone new in the house every couple of weeks. The Foundry is the most wholesome community to be a part of, especially if you are new to SF or staying short term. Don't think I'll be moving anytime soon.

How much does Foundry cost?

Small rooms start at $2,290/month and large rooms start at $2,490/month. Rooms differ by house, size and layout, so those are starting rates rather than a single price, and the exact figure for a room is confirmed before you book.

What's included in the cost of living at Foundry?

Every Foundry room includes utilities, water, high-speed Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning of common areas, a fully furnished private bedroom (bedding, towels, kitchenware), access to shared kitchen and living spaces, weekly community dinners, a bi-weekly mastermind session, bi-weekly investor dinners, social events, a $100 partner-gym discount, a free pitch ticket to a monthly pitch night, and the quarterly Foundry Demo Day.

What is the minimum stay?

One month is the default minimum. If you want to talk through your situation, reach out and we will discuss it. Residents who help with house management or cleaning can earn a rent reduction.

Are the rooms furnished?

Yes. Every room comes fully furnished with a bed, mattress, bedding, desk, chair, and storage. Kitchenware and household essentials are included in the shared spaces.

Where are the houses located?

Foundry operates four houses in San Francisco: 2332 Fulton St (Lone Mountain, near Golden Gate Park and USF), 1620 McAlister (Western Addition), 550 Guerrero St (Mission District, near Dolores Park), and 106-108 Shotwell St (Mission District, near 16th St BART).

What's the deposit and cancellation policy?

The security deposit is a flat $1,000, due at move-in and refundable at move-out minus any damages. The cancellation policy depends on the length of your stay, and we go through it on your application call.
